Kartel, Killer showdown? Follow Di Arrow promoter advises them to 'Be Positive'

>
Despite having Vybz Kartel and his former mentor and rival Bounty Killer on the same event, promoter for Follow Di Arrow, Dexton Ennis, says it will not hinder the event's positive theme.

The buzz has begun around the event which will see its 11th staging this Saturday at James Bond Beach in Oracabessa, St Mary. Deejays Bounty Killer and Vybz Kartel will both be on the show, Bounty having been a long time staple at the event, while this will mark Kartel's second performance on the show since his split from the Bounty Killer-led Alliance in 2006.

The two deejays have long had unresolved issues between them and a recent performance at Club Ville at Margaritaville, Montego Bay, saw 'The Warlord' taking lyrical swipes at Kartel's 'skin bleaching' practices, leaving many believing that Follow Di Arrow will be seeing the two throwing a few lyrical shots.

However, as explained at the event's recent launch, Ennis is looking to keep his event on a positive note this year. The promoter explained that 'Follow Di Arrow' will be the first dancehall stage show for 2011 and hopes to set the trend for other shows through the 'Be Positive' theme under which the event is to be held.

lyrical blows

Ennis also told  that he has no fears that the two (artistes) would be throwing any lyrical blows, adamant that this will not be the case and that the two artistes will play by the rules. He said, "They're working at different times, like one or two hours apart. I will expect them to work with and adhere to the theme of 'Be Positive'. I have spoken to them and they're both big people so there's nothing else that I can do."

Under the theme, Ennis hopes to also tackle the lateness issue that has been plaguing events for quite some time. "We have set it up that the entertainers come out early, not the usual late thing. Everybody has their allotted time for their performance, not 10 minutes into someone else's. Keep it clean and positive and set the trend for the rest of the shows for the year," he said.

Ennis says he is asking dancehall fans to come out and support the show as they have put together 'recession friendly' prices of $1,200 presold, $1,500 at the gate and $2,000 for VIP tickets specifically with patrons in mind.
