Several areas in the crime hotbed of Spanish town, St Catherine, were placed under curfew by the security forces yesterday.
At least three different areas including Dela Vega City, Railway Premises/Dallas Lane and March Pen, were placed on curfew. Police said the curfew, which began about 6 p.m. will remain in effect until 6 p.m. tomorrow.
The boundaries of the curfew in Dela Vega City will be north along an imaginary line at Dela Vega City playing field from Port Henderson Road to Salt Pond Road. South along the Spanish Town Bypass from Port Henderson Road to Salt Pond Road. East along Port Henderson Road from Dela Vega City playing field to the Spanish Town Bypass and west along Salt Pond Road from the Spanish Town Bypass to Dela Vega City playing field.
In the Railway Premises/Dallas Lane, the boundaries are north along Burke Road from the intersection of Salt Pond Road to the intersection of lower Oxford Road. South along the Spanish Town Bypass from the intersection of Salt Pond Road to the intersection of Oxford Road. East along Salt Pond Road from the intersection of Burke Road to the intersection of the Spanish Town Bypass and west along Oxford Road from the intersection of Burke Road to the intersection of the Spanish Town Bypass.
Meanwhile for March Pen, the boundaries will be north along the Spanish Town Bypass between Dunbeholden Road and March Pen Road. South along an imaginary line between Dunbeholden Road and number 76 March Pen Road. East along Dunbeholden Road between Spanish Town Bypass and the overhead bridge and west along March Pen Road between the Spanish Town Bypass and the southern boundary.
The police said during the hours of the curfew, all persons within the boundaries are required to remain within their premises unless otherwise authorised in writing by the member of the security forces who is in charge of enforcing the curfew.
