There has been much debate lately about the state of reggae music. The claim is that with the insertion of the dancehall culture, authentic reggae has suffered and as a result, diminished on the global scale. Many argue that with both genres coming from the island of Jamaica when one is dominant the other falters.
Concerned about these findings, reggae artist and CEO of Russcuttaz Records, Higher Purse, went to work. He spent the last couple of months working on a project now entitled: Old School Riddim. His position is that even though he is a fan of dancehall music, his heart has and will always be with reggae. And seeing reggae sales suffer is something he would like to do something about. Higher Purse believes that if we only give the people real reggae music like in the old days then they will actually pay for it.
As such, the Old School Riddim which features artist like Natty King, Natural Black, Karamanti, Rage, Shaka Pow, Higher Purse and many others will be released and available for download on all major online music stores as of November 25th. Zojak Worldwide is distributing the album and they can be found online at http://www.zojakworldwide.com
Confident that the Old School Riddim is exactly what reggae lovers are looking for, Higher Purse would like everyone to check out snippets of the album before purchasing it. Listen to the old school riddim here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPURNUDU_pM
