The Police Complaints divison is probing a case where a sergeant has been accused of physically abusing his wife for 21 years and molesting her 12-year-old sister.
The police man's wife, Mrs Cran, is said to have made a report on June 23.
When THE STAR contacted the division, a corporal confirmed that a report was made.
"There is a case of that nature. I cannot divulge much information but I know the husband has already been contacted," the corporal said.
Mrs Cran was, however, willing to share her alleged tale of pain with THE STAR. She said that she has been married to the St Catherine cop for 21 years despite being abused and disrespected for the most part.
She alleged that her husband physically abused her, managed to get a number of girls pregnant and molested her 12-year-old sister.
The marriage from the beginning, she said, was headed straight for disaster but she ignored the first sign.
"The day before our wedding I caught him kissing a girl, as in deep kissing her but I overlooked it and we still got married," she claimed.
In a letter, which she also wrote to THE STAR, Mrs Cran pinpointed several incidents which she claims occurred during the marriage.
"We had a 16-year-old young lady living with us to help with our two kids as we were both employed, what he did was to get her pregnant and threatened to shoot her if she told me he was the father," she alleged.
So bad was the abuse and disrespect that Mrs Cran claims she had to hide from her husband and flee to the United Kingdom in 2002. She said she had to leave her two young sons behind. Cran said she returned later but was again abused continuously.
Asked how she managed to remain in the marriage for so long, Mrs Cran said she did it for the sake of her two boys.
"I really don't know, to be honest, but I think I did it so my boys could have a stable home," she said.
Efforts to contact the policeman proved futile as calls to his phone went unanswered and messages left were not returned.
