THE Portmore CIB is investigating an alleged shootout between two groups of men in Portmore last night, which resulted in one of the shooters being shot, and another injured.
Dead is 36-year-old Steve Gordon, a taxi operator, while injured is a man known only as Stewart, both of Southborough.
Police reports are that about 9:40 pm, lawmen were called to the community after receiving reports of gunshots being fired in the area. On their arrival they found Gordons body at his gate. He had been shot several times.
Police investigators were told that Gordon and Stewart were involved in a gun battle with men who attacked them from the roof of a nearby building.
Stewart, who the officers believe was injured in the gunfight, has not been seen since, and has not turned up for care at hospital.
