A man accused of punching his neighbour in the face and bursting her mouth appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Charged with assault is Odahri Moulton.

The complainant told the court that the accused punched her in the mouth after she told him to stay away from a mango tree in her yard. She said she told the accused several times to leave the tree alone, but he reportedly told her that no one could stop him.

It is alleged that on the day in question, the accused got upset when he was again confronted about the mango tree and punched the complainant.

The accused was ordered to pay $15,000 or serve six months in jail. He was also told to give his fingerprints to the police.
