A man who pleaded guilty to punching his mother in the mouth, will spend the next three months in jail for the act.
Linval Johnson pleaded guilty to wounding his mother before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
The court was told that on the day in question, the accused and his mother had an argument. It is alleged that she tried to hold on to him during the dispute, but he punched her in the mouth, sending her to the ground.
When the accused was asked by RM Pusey if there was any reason why he should not go to jail, he said "no." When he was asked how much time he planned to spend in jail, he simply uttered a simple "no time."
Upon hearing this, RM Pusey immediately sentenced the accused man to three months' imprisonment at hard labour. He was also ordered to have his fingerprints taken.
