The police are now searching for men who broke into a house, abducted a six-year-old child and savagely raped her.

The St Catherine South police say that about 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the criminals broke into the house where the child and her family reside. They are said to have entered the building through a bathroom window.

THE WEEKEND STAR learnt that the child was carried some distance from the house where she was assaulted. After the chid was discovered by a relative, a report was made and the matter is being investigated.

Police sources told THE WEEKEND STAR that items found at the scene are being analysed for forensic evidence. It was revealed recently at the opening of the St Catherine Circuit Court that the parish continues to be one of the leading parishes where sexual impropriety against minors are concerned.
