A Kingston woman found herself before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday after almost three pounds of ganja were found in her underwear.
Patsy McKenzie, a higgler and domestic worker from Harbour View, is facing charges of possession, dealing in and attempting to export ganja.
Resident Magistrate Vivienne Harris granted McKenzie $80,000 bail with up to two sureties. As a condition of her bail, she is required to report to the Harbour View Police Station on Tuesdays and Fridays. Her travel documents were also seized.
McKenzie is to return to court on April 30.
Allegations are that McKenzie was a passenger on-board a flight from Kingston, en route to Curacao, when the plane made a stop at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay. Upon arrival, the passengers were subjected to a routine search.
While McKenzie was being searched the drug was found hidden in her underwear. She was subsequently arrested and charged.
