A 10-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with arson with intent to endanger life, after a fire at a house in Middlesbrough.
A mother and her four children were rescued from their home during the incident last September.
One of the children, a six-year-old boy, suffered smoke inhalation.
Magistrates at Teesside Youth Court granted the youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, unconditional bail pending a crown court hearing.
