Brittany Murphy's death was caused by pneumonia, severe anaemia and prescription medications, a post mortem report has revealed today. The prescription medications found in Brittany's system were consistent with treatment of a cold or respiratory illness and did contribute to her death. The report adds that the 32-year-old actress' period had also left her in a weakened state. The severe abdominal pains she had complained about in the days running up to her death were attributed to her period by her husband and mother, who both say she often suffered during menstruation. Brittany's death has been ruled as accidental.
