A CYCLIST was killed after being knocked-down by a lorry on a busy road.
Cops were called to the junction of Tower Bridge Road and Druid Street at 9.30am today (Tuesday).
The cyclist was found trapped underneath the lorry, Southwark police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers from the Catford Traffic Collision Unit are investigating the crash.
In a second incident, a motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after a smash with a black cab. Afternoon traffic was stopped in Blackfriars Road today (Tuesday) so an air ambulance crew could treat the injured biker. Cops were called to scene at around 3pm outside the Global Maritime building in Borough. A Southwark police spokeswoman said the man had suffered life-threatening head injuries. She said: We await information on the welfare of the taxi driver. The man was rushed to hospital in an ambulance. A witness who asked to remain anonymous said: It happened about twenty minutes ago and they haven't moved him yet. I ran down out there but he wasn't breathing. The air ambulance has landed in the middle of the road. A Fire Brigade crew also attended the incident.
