The soap opera-like situation in a Cross Roads, St Andrew-based community that the THE STAR reported on last week, where a young woman named some 19 men as the father of her baby, has now left a man nursinginjuries in hospital.
According to information reaching THE STAR, the man was stabbed after he and another man got into a heated argument after one accused the other of being among the 19 possible daddies.
A source close to the situation said some time after 5 p.m. last Friday, the now-injured man was in the Cross Roads area when he was accused of being one of the 19 men who the woman at the centre of the saga had shortlisted. The source further said that an argument developed, which later turned into a fight, during which a knife was used to stab one of the men. He was rushed to hospital.
Police in the area have confirmed reports of the stabbing but were tight-lipped about the specifics.
In last Friday's article, THE STAR reported that the community was in turmoil after a woman from that area pinpointed 19 men as the father of her baby girl.
Reports in that story were that the woman accused all of the men, including three brothers and businessmen from the area, of fathering her child, resulting in frequent arguments among the men fingered and threats being issued to the woman as well as her family.
The Cross Roads police, who are aware of the situation, said they were keeping an eye on the area.
