The questionable actions of a Corporate Area policeman who recently fondled a male colleague at a police station, have been raising eyebrows and dropping jaws.
Information reaching THE STAR is that the incident occurred last week while both parties were on duty at the station.
It is said that the accused policeman, whose sexuality many have questioned, groped and fondled his fellow officer, while threatening him not to tell anyone about the incident.
previously reprimanded
This newspaper was also told that the same policeman was reprimanded some time ago in a prior matter where he stuck out his tongue in a freaky and sexual manner at another male colleague.
Attempts to speak with the superintendent in charge of the division were unsuccessful as calls went unanswered.
One source from the station however, confirmed the incident. "It happened for real," the source said. "It was two officers, the one that did the fondling is now on sick leave. He took some leave after the incident. The other person is still at work ... saying he feels violated because he is a married man and a father."
The tight-lipped source would not reveal the ranks of the policemen involved in the episode. That person was also unable to state whether the "fondler" would face disciplinary action.
formal report
Efforts by THE STAR to contact the head of the station were unsuccessful, as numerous calls to his phone went unanswered.
However, a source from the Police Officers Association, while adding that this case was unfamiliar, said the 'abused' officer should make a formal report if any action is to be taken against the 'fondler'.
The source could not say, however, what kind of sanctions the offending officer could face as he was not aware of the full allegations.
