One of uptown's finest and fastest rising sound system Darkcide International is certainly on a path to etch their names amongst the scribes of the industry greats as they continue to break new ground locally.
Following last Friday's stellar performance on entertainment cable giants HYPE-TV, The team that comprises Darkcide International is now gearing up for the internationally acclaimed beach party Fullyloaded slated for July 26th at James Bond Beach, Oracabessa, St. Mary.
The show headlined by U.S rap star Fat Joe, Bounty Killer, Mykal Rose, billboard bad boys Elephant Man and Mavado, J.O.P front man Aidonia amongst others will see Darkcide engaging some of the island and the world's best sound system in a battle royale for supremacy.
According to head of Media and Marketing, Shadow, "first we would just like to extended our gratitude to Ms. Sharon Burke and the Solid Agency team for embracing real talent and giving us an opportunity to showcase our skill set to the rest of the world. As for the battles it's never easy with such a tough line-up. However patrons should come with an open mind to be entertained and not because we are only 3-years old we have no intention of allowing ourselves to be bullied by the more experienced sounds."
Other sound systems on the roster include: Code Red, Rebel T, Cash Money, Bass Odyssey, Black Kat, Renaissance, *lo**line, Sky Juice, Alaska, Boom Boom, plus international acts from Trinidad, Guyana and Japan.
Darkcide currently has three DJs, Cide (Heineken Green Synergy 2008 3rd place finalist), The indomitable Wah Wa and Cyrus, while marketing, finance and bookings are handled by Mr. Marvin Lawrence, Lisa Kong and Judian Stewart respectively.
Darkcide International though still spawning its infantry stages recently celebrated their 3rd anniversary and is a true trendsetter and the only sound system in only two year to have played on A.T.I. Appleton Treasure Island (now Appleton Temptation Isle due to current merger with R.T.I) and several other major events a feat that has not been accomplished by many established entities.
