It was a fashion invasion on Thursday night as deejay Spice took over the food court of the Mall Plaza in Half-Way Tree for the launch of her store, Spicey Couture, with a fashion show displaying all the local brands that the store would provide.
Prior to the fashion show, interested persons took a look around Spicey Couture's colourful display of dresses, shoes, handbags, jewellery and other items.
Behind the store, the food court was transformed into a mini runway with drinks and food available, a red carpet for the models to strut their stuff, and a purple curtain, as well as balloons added to the decor. And with Pretty Boy Floyd as the host, the night was filled with laughter as he got the show on the road.
nice culture
Image Wear was the first design up, with short sexy camouflage-themed shorts and tops. Mamyachi did well as she displayed knee-length shirts and dresses decorated with lion prints. The male line had singing group To Isis wowing females, modelling plaid and colourful pants, followed by the male and female line of Yaad Trenz. To Isis soon graced the runway again with Ajani T-shirts and Romeich Wear saw G-Whizz and Entertainment Report's Scott Wilson showcasing nicely tailored jackets for a night on the town.
It was the lady of the night, Spice, and Lady Saw, who got the biggest response, as they modelled Jessica McClintock dresses.
In an airy yellow dress, Lady Saw looked radiant as she humbly walked down the runway - Pretty Boy Floyd shouting, "Walk out wid swagger Mumma, cause no gal cyaan walk out pan yuh!"
A radiant Spice made her first appearance as her Rampin Shop song played in the background. With a huge smile on her face, Spice moved fiercely down the runway to end the night. Outside of the fashion show, Ginjah's sweet voice rang out with songs, such as Rough Times, while one of the female models did a short deejay routine, and G Whizz ended the night with Life.
