I am 30 and a mother of six children. I love them so much and I don't want to hurt them but I have a deep, dark secret. I have been selling my body for the past five years just to satisfy all their needs.
I am doing this just for them but I want to stop. Their fathers are not supporting them. I have prayed every night to stop but I don't want my children to suffer. I sell to over 20 different men each night and I have 15 loyal customers.
Please don't think that this lifestyle is something I want to do but I cannot let my children suffer. I should suffer, not them.
Pastor, I really need your help and advice.
Dear M.,
I am sorry to hear that, because of need, you have been engaging in prostitution. I do believe you. I wish you could find yourself a job to support yourself and your children. The question is: "What can you do?" And where can you find a job? I wish you had mentioned in what area you are trained, so that readers would have been in a position to offer you a job.
I am amazed that you can have 20 clients in one night. Callers on the 'Dear Pastor' show have said that prostitutes have lowered their price because of the economic climate. Men are paying very little to prostitutes for sex. So, I suppose you are not making big bucks these days. I am very sorry for you. But I want to assure you that I don't condemn you. I suggest, however, that, during the daytime when you are not practising your profession, you go to school and learn a skill.
My prayers are with you. Continue to pray that God will make a way for you.
