Three policemen charged in connection with the December 2004 murders of Kemar Walters and Oliver Duncan were denied bail in the Circuit Court yesterday.
The matter was first mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magis-trate's Court but was transferred.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Victor Barry is facing a charge of accessory after the fact to murder, while constables Paul Edwards and Lowie Lynch are charged with murder.
Reports are that the police drove to the parking lot of the Washington Boulevard plaza on December 23, 2004, where they accosted the men. One of the men was said to be involved in a car-stealing ring involving members of the police. Both men have been missing since. It is believed that they were abducted and subsequently murdered.
When the matter was mentioned before Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh, the prosecution indicated its objection to bail, stating that investigations were still being carried out and the men could interfere with such investigations.
The men were remanded and the matter set to be mentioned again on June 18 when the judge will decide on bail.
