Lover's trap

Dear Pastor,

I am a Jamaican living in the United States. I have a very big problem. I have been seeing a man for over a year. About three months ago, he told me that he is married and he has a son with his wife. It hurt me so much to know that I fell in love with this man.

He treated me like a queen from the beginning of our relationship. After he told me, I wanted to tell him that I do not want to be with him anymore, but I did not. His wife and child are in Jamaica.

Pastor, please help me. I know that it is very bad to be seeing someone else's man or woman but I can't help it. What am I to do?

C.

Dear C.,

Keep in mind, madam, that although this man fooled you for about a year, you are now in a position to decide whether or not you will continue in the relationship or kick him in the butt. He played an old trick on you. He hid the truth from you and caused you fall to in love with him. Then he shocked you with the news that he is married, when he knows that it would be very difficult for you to tell him to go.

If you continue to have him in your life, he will be standing in the way of another man who may truly fall in love with you but would not express it or visit you because of him.

So, I suggest that although you love him, you should tell him that it is over between both of you.

Pastor
