The St Andrew North Police have yet to establish a motive for the murder of popular attorney, 72-year-old Berriston 'Berry' Bryan.

Bryan's body was found at his Wedmore Rise, Stony Hill, St Andrew, home shortly after 8 a.m. yesterday by one of his employees. The lawyer is commonly known for his recent involvement in the Peter King murder case, where he represented Sheldon Pusey, the man accused of killing the ambassador.

brutal attack

Investigators told THE STAR that Bryan's body bore the signs of a brutal attack. He was reportedly also hit on the head. It is believed that he lived alone.

Bryan's client, Pusey, told the court during his trial that he had killed King, but had done it in self-defence after King had made sex-ual advances towards him. He was later convicted of manslaughter.

homosexual lifestyle

Shortly after the conviction, Berry appealed the decision, citing that jurors had not been shown tapes allegedly documenting King's homosexual lifestyle. His appeal was turned down, however, and Pusey was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

A well-respected senior attorney, Bryan served on the Bar for several years. Investigations continue.
