A 27-year-old businessman was shot and injured by gunmen at Argyle Road, Kingston 5, Saturday night. His attackers, who were challenged by a licensed firearm holder, ran leaving behind an illegal gun.
police say about 8:30 p.m., the businessman, who was driving a Hiace minibus, was about to enter his residence when he was approached by two men armed with guns. The gunmen immediately opened fire hitting him. He drove off and crashed into a tree. A licensed firearm holder who was nearby challenged the gunmen who ran leaving behind a .38 Chrome Taurus revolver serial number IC244064 with two rounds of ammunition.
The gunmen then escaped on a motorbike. The police were summoned and the injured businessman was taken to hospital where he was admitted in serious condition. The illegal weapon was handed over to the lawmen.
