Dancehall legend Bounty Killer was in Negril Tuesday night, performing at Jungle nightclub packed with Springbreakers.
The performance was in aid of Soul Rebellion's "Buy a Brick" charity campaign that raises money to build schools and libraries in Jamaica. "With Bounty being the Poor People's Governor he was a natural choice to help us with the campaign," said Richard Sloan, head of Soul Rebellion. "It was a great success and our aim is to buy thousands of books and computers for schools in Jamaica and Bounty lending his support has given us a tremendous lift."
The "Buy a Brick" campaign targets Springbreakers, encouraging them to contribute to Jamaica during their visit here, not just come to Jamaica party and leave.
"I am always an advocate for a positive movement in my country," said Bounty. "I always try and make myself available to help such causes and this was an honour to be a part of as it helps Jamaican kids directly. Soul Rebellion are doing a great job as there is always a gap between the needs of the people and what Government provides and they are helping to bridge that gap."
A film crew from BET were also in attendance, shooting a documentary on the project. bounty-killer-negril.jpg

Bounty Killers new video
The day after Bounty turned the Kingston community of Back-to into a hive of activity as he shot scenes for his new video. There is always a clamour, both locally and internationally, for more videos from Bounty so there will be a great response to the clip for current conscious hits "They Don't Know and "Corrupt." bounty-killer-negril1.jpg "Back-to is one of Kingston's most economically depressed communities and reflects exactly the type of tings I am singing about in these songs," said Bounty. "Just being here seemed to also give the community a lift which is another positive."
Bounty doubled the day into a treat for the children of Back-to, giving away lots of goodies throughout the day.
The video was shot by Ras Tingle and should be on a small screens within a couple of weeks.
