A 38 year - old farmer was shot and killed by a gunman at his home yesterday evening.

Dead is John Hamilton, otherwise called Johnny of Paynes Town district, New Market, St. Elizabeth.

Police reports are that about 8 p.m., Hamilton and two other men were sitting on his verandah when a white Nissan motorcar drove up. A man alighted from the car, walked up and called Hamilton. The man then pulled a gun from his pocket and shot Hamilton, killing him on the spot. The other two men ran while the gunman left in the car.
The police were called, the crime scene processed by the Area Three Crime Scene Unit and the body removed to the morgue for an autopsy.

The New Market Police are investigating.
