A man was shot dead during a shoot-out with the police at Job Lane, Spanish Town, St. Catherine last night. A firearm was seized in the incident. Dead is Shawn Tulloch, 18, of Johns Road, Spanish Town.

Police reports are that about 11 p.m., a police team was on patrol in the Job Lane area where Tulloch was seen and accosted. However, he pulled a firearm and opened fire at the officers.

The fire was returned and he was shot. The weapon, a colt 9mm pistol serial number erased containing seven 9mm rounds, was seized. The injured man was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Bureau of Special Investigations is investigating.
