With a victory against Australia on their home ground, South Africa has ushered into a new era of Cricket supremacy. This is big jolt for Aussie who has dominated the world cricket for a long time. South Africa not only won the series but set a record of becoming first team to defeat Australia on domestic turf.  South Africa cruised to a historic nine-wicket victory to claim an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

South Africa crushed Australia by 9 wickets on the fifth day of the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday to clinch their first-ever series victory Down Under.

South Africa have beaten Australia in the second cricket Test at the MCG to post their first series victory in this country.

The Proteas reached 1-183 to win by nine wickets.

Hashim Amla hit the winning runs and finished 30 not out, while batting partner Neil McKenzie was unbeaten on 59.

South Africa's win gives them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

This defeat is Australia's first series loss at home since they were beaten 2-1 by the West Indies in 1992-93.

South Africa can now aim to overtake Australia as the world's No.1 Test side in the third Test at the SCG, starting Saturday.
