Bounty Killer, the leader of The Alliance, was in awesome form during the recently held MC8 concert in Bahamas over the weekend, performed in front of at least 3,000 screaming fans who ate up his every word and gesture.
Dressed in a white shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, Bounty Killer hit the stage deejaying Lodge, and almost instantaneously, the weed smoke seemed more pungent and the excitement level inside the venue ratcheted up a notch. He neatly segued into Riding West, and ended the song by saying people and the crowd shouted Dead.
He took a moment to big up all the Caribbean people, ah we run the world before he started a blistering segment, backed by Ruff Kut band, that took the people back to the halcyon days of dancehall. He deejayed Spy Dem Fi Die, No Mercy, Tempt Me, War and Suspense in quick succession before switching to the girl segment where he declared: weh the Bahamian gal dem de who love dem conch, and weh the Bahamian man dem de who know say c**ky fi rail up under gal.
He then deejayed Worthless Bwoy, Follow Mi Arrow and his monster hit with Barrington Levy, Living Dangerously. He then did Mystery is the Mystery with the line, teflon for them wannabes earning what sounded like a loud pistol report or firecracker that had members of the crowd looking anxiously over their shoulders.
He also took time to address the decision of the immigration authorities to send Mavado back to Jamaica.
Yu have some foolish authority who do not love the people. The Gangsta for Life came yesterday and was told that he should not enter the country. He came here four months ago and there was no problem, now all of a sudden, he cant enter? Bman inna the system, phole inna the system! he declared to loud forwards. He then did Eagle and the Hawk and the crowd roared its approval.
He also delivered an anti-gay tirade after doing Anytime about the temerity of the b-bwoy who had the heart to ask the Prime Minister about having gays in his government.
Not in my cabinet! he declared
It was one of Bounty Killers best performances in recent history as he did a complete set packed with all his hits, and worked the stage well, taking off his glasses to do Look Into My Eyes, smiling while doing Another Level, and do his weird awkward looking dance that looked like a c****ination of the Gully Creeper and Sweep. And the Bahamians loved it.
