A bus carrying a second-division Peruvian soccer team has fallen 200 meters (600 feet) down a ravine, killing eight people and injuring 22.
Peru's Andina state news agency reports that highway robbers forced the bus driver out of his seat at gunpoint on Monday. The brakes came loose and the bus rolled off the cliff.
Celendina police say two of the dead and most of the injured are members of the San Cayetano soccer club from the northern city of Celendin. Andina reports two of the team's owners also died.
The team was returning from a game it lost 10-0.
Andina reports a second bus fell 15 meters (49 feet) into a ravine in the southeastern province of Cuzco Monday, killing one passenger and injuring 38.
