HERE'S how five Old Trafford legends fared in their first game:

 

BRYAN ROBSON

ROBBOS first game after his record £1.5million switch from West Brom was a 1-0 defeat at Spurs in the League Cup on October 7, 1981.

ROY KEANE

KEANO made an impressive debut as United beat Arsenal on penalties in the 1993 Charity Shield at Wembley, courtesy of a shootout miss by David Seaman.

DAVID BECKHAM

BECKS was introduced as a second-half sub in a League Cup win over Brighton in 1992.

ERIC CANTONA

KING ERICS debut was a cameo as a late sub in Uniteds 2-1 win over Manchester City at Old Trafford on December 6, 1992.

WAYNE ROONEY

ROO made one of the greatest United debuts of all time, netting a hat-trick in a 6-2 Champions League win over Fenerbahce on September 28, 2004.
