Unsettled Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo could leave for Roma in January, according to the player's agent.
Crespo appears to not figure in Jose Mourinho's plans at the Giuseppe Meazza and the Argentine international has been omitted from the club's squad list for the UEFA Champions League.
The former Chelsea hit-man is thought to be unhappy at being left out of their European campaign and is seeking a move away from Inter.
The 33-year-old was linked with moves to Sampdoria and Palermo, but any deal failed to materialise before the transfer window slammed shut on Monday night.
Crespo's agent Fernando Hidalgo has admitted the player is likely to move on when the transfer window reopens and that the former Lazio player would be interested in a move to Roma.
"Hernan has always liked Roma and he was very close to moving there when he was at Chelsea," Hidalgo told Radio Radio. "He spoke to the Giallorossi then but they couldn't reach an agreement.
Unhappy
"The player wasn't happy with what happened on the final day of the transfer market.
"But these things happen in football and now he must try and find space in Serie A and the Coppa Italia to show his value.
"Nobody from Roma has spoken to me but we will see in January. For now, Crespo must prove to Inter that they made a mistake in not choosing him for the Champions League."
