Luton Shelton yesterday completed his move to Norwegian side Valerenga for a fee of £1million plus incentives and a sell-on clause.
Shelton had failed to hold down a first team place after joining from Swedish side Helsingborgs in January 2007. He scored just 4 goals including the infamous goal against Manchester City which had the help of a blue balloon.
'Luton wasn't exactly what I was looking for, he was a bit of a maverick,' said Blackwell about the Jamaican International. 'This opportunity arose for him to play regularly and is just what he needs at this stage of his career.'
