In an interview with New Yorks renowned hip-hop station Hot 97, Eminem confirmed that hes hard at work on new material, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with members of his Shady Records label.
Despite his camp denying the rumours that the rapper was working on a new album entitled "King Mathers," Eminem has announced he is hard at work on his first studio album in three years.
"Im always working Im always in the studio," he said. "It feels good right now, the energy of the label. For a while, I didnt want to go back to the studio ... I went through some personal things. Im coming out of those personal things [and] it feels good."
The rapper also said he has barely been out of the studio with most of the artists on the Shady Records roster and despite joking he would release the new album "tomorrow," there is currently no release date for the album.
Eminems last album was 2004s "Encore" which topped The Billboard 200 and Billboards Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. He also released a compilation album featuring the artists on his Shady Records label entitled "Eminem Presents : The Re-Up," which peaked at No. 2 on the same charts.
Fifty was asked "So what the hell is going on with Eminem ?", here is what he answered : Hes got a new album coming. Hes not gonna tell people that, but hes making new music. Ive heard a few songs, and its hot. He wont tell nobody hes working on a new album, but Ill tell you : hes working on new music. And once he locks into it, like, This is my favorite shit, its gonna come out. Is it angry Em ? Wacky Em ? Both, says Fifty. The whole range. You know, Michael Jordan was supposed to play basketball. Floyd Mayweather was meant to box. And Eminem was meant to rap.
