JAMAICA'S REGGAE Boyz are set to take on El Salvador in a friendly tentatively scheduled for Houston, Texas, on July 25, ahead of the start of the crucial third round of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers which kick off against Canada on August 20.
Finding themselves in the CONCACAF 'Group of Death' alongside Mexico, Honduras and Canada, the region's first, third and fourth ranked teams, the Jamaicans are keen on sharpening up ahead of the tough group.
El Salvador, who are in Group Three alongside Costa Rica, Suriname and Haiti, will also be looking for valuable match practice ahead of the third stage.
Only two teams from each group will advance to the final stage of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers.
The teams last met at the National Stadium in November of last year and on that occasion it was a 3-0 victory for the Boyz, who have not lost to their Central American rivals in their last three games.
Ahead of the practice match and qualifiers, national technical director Rene Simoes has assembled a 24-man squad of mostly local players. The camp will be held at Grand Lido Braco from July 14-20.
Training squad: Donovan Ricketts, Shawn Sawyers, Dwayne Miller, Orane Simpson, Obrian Woodbine, Adrian Reid, Keneil Moodie, Jermaine Taylor, Andre Darby, Christopher Jackson, Lance Laing, Nathan Koo-booth, Damion Williams, Hugh Howell, Evan Taylor, Davian Thorpe, Ricardo Cousins, Eric Vernon, Javaughn Watson, Navian Boyd, Keammar Daley, James Thomas, Marcelino Blackburn, Dever Orgill.
