Once again Dancehall bad boy Mavado has found himself in the hot seat and has become the new hot button topic of many heads of Government and influential sectors throughout the Caribbean.
Recently 876radio.com told you that Mavado had been banned in Guyana after he was deemed a security threat and denied entry into the country. Ironically the banning has not stopped as many other Caribbean nations are slowly catching up and have begun implementing their own measures of censorship.
Since being banned in Guyana, radio jocks and other heads of state across CARICOM have begun to take a stance against the artiste whose lyrics they deem as being extremely violent and incites people to become wrong doers.
Just recently Mavado was also blacklisted by some jocks in Trinidad, Barbados, St. Vincent and it seems that Dominica has now joined the fight.
876radio.com understand that a popular disc jock turn Christian from the land of the misty green mountains has come out in support of the ban while lashing out at the deejay for his very vague use to some well known hymnals and bible verses in his songs namely, "Amazing Grace" and the recent chart topper "On The Rock".
According to the jock, Mavado has taken the Lords work and turn it into sheer blasphemy, which only contributes negatively to the youths of society. He added that considering the recent rise in crime throughout the Caribbean this has now forced the country's Security Minister to put forth a proposal to implement more stringent policies to punish anyone found with an illegal firearm or ammunition.
However with all this negative publicity now surrounding the artiste, this has done nothing to decrease his popularity and demand on the entertainment circuit. Only weeks ago the deejay was named in a recent publication of the 'Rolling Stones' Magazine as the best thing since Bob Marley.
