The 30-year-old Henry is France's all-time leading scorer with 44 goals and is set to play his sixth consecutive major tournament at the European Championship. The FC Barcelona player has contemplated whether to retire from Les Bleus after the June 7-29 tournament.

"The thought crossed my mind - period," Henry said Friday. "I won't speak about it further."

Henry has had a tough season at Barcelona, often playing out on the left wing under then coach Frank Rijkaard and struggling to live up to expectations after previously scoring prolifically with Arsenal.

Still, he thinks the experience has toughened him up.

"I learned a bit more about myself this season," Henry said, pointing out that he still managed "19 goals and 11 assists" despite not playing in a central striking role.

Henry, who has 98 caps, is likely to regain his starting place at striker under coach Raymond Domenech at Euro 2008, where France plays in Group C against Romania on June 9, Netherlands on June 13 and Italy on June 17.

Despite a tough group, Henry thinks France can clinch its third European title, after 1984 and 2000.

"I think we have the ability to win," Henry said. "We are solid, we have quality in attack."

With five goals in his last four league games with Barcelona, Henry also feels his form is returning at the right time.

"I feel in better shape," he said, adding that he is looking forward to "playing up front again" in upcoming friendlies against Ecuador, Paraguay and Col****ia.
