Glenmuir High School stomped their class on Hampton High not only to advance to the third round of this year's TVJ-sponsored School's Challenge Quiz, but also signalling themselves as a clear competitor for the title.

Led by captain Romario Thomas, Glenmuir High dominated the match from beginning to end and finished with 52 points compared to the measly score of nine their opponents got.

Glenmuir's performance knocked the wind out of their St Elizabeth-based opponents who seemingly gave up as early as the end of the first round which saw them trailing with Glenmuir leading 9-3.

In section two, Glenmuir continued to outplay Hampton High gaining 20 points to end their three minutes on 29.

Hampton on the other hand could only manage nine points, bringing their tally to 12.

Hampton High would only move two points further nevertheless, as they finished the match with 14 points.

Dubbed the "exciting ding-dong buzzer section", this segment of the match was nothing but a one way event in favour of Glenmuir High who buzzed in to 16 questions, of which only three were incorrect.

In fact, Glenmuir's performance was so clinical that when quiz master Devon Yetman asked "What anniversary will the Hampton High School be celebrating this year?" they first Hampton to the buzzer responding "150 years". Being the correct answer, this sparked laughter from everyone inside the studio except the players from Hampton who seemed not to find it a bit funny that they couldn't answer.

At the end of the match, the players from Glenmuir said it was a good match, while Hampton said they will be looking to better their performances next year.

Members of the Glenmuir team: Romario Thomas (captain), Darrien Bartley, Rojay Gordon, Mark Sterling.

Members of the Hampton team: Jervene Simpson (captain), Alexa Simpson, Daynia Farquharson, Yanique Henry.

Next match: José Marti vs Queen's
