Andrew Getty who died Tuesday -- claimed his ex-girlfriend stressed him out to the point where she endangered his life.

Getty obtained a restraining order just 2 weeks ago, claiming he was diagnosed in 2013 with a serious medical condition that was exacerbated by stress, often brought on by confrontations with his ex-GF.  He says the stress would send his *la*hd pressure through the roof, creating a "grave risk" of death.

Getty claimed the girlfriend -- Lanessa DeJonge -- knew of his condition and exploited it. Getty claims in the docs -- obtained  by TMZ -- DeJonge would exploit the information about his condition to extort him, demanding money and property.

As for why he got the restraining order, he claims during a car ride she repeatedly kicked and hit him and tossed everything from the car out the window.

He claimed DeJonge was "deranged," arguing with imaginary people. 

The judge issued the restraining order and she was told to move out of his home and stay 100 yards clear of him. It's interesting, because she went to his house and discovered his body.

As we reported, we're told DeJonge was placed on a 5150 psych hold hours after Getty died.
