One of the Jamaica's most wanted men was killed by police on Saturday.

Donovan Topping o/c 'Don Topping' and 'Dan Dan', 40-year-old from Port Henderson Road, St Catherine, was fatally shot by members of the Manchester Police operations unit in Newport, Manchester.

Topping, the police said, was wanted for a number of murders and shooting incidents in St Catherine - mainly Portmore and Spanish Town.

He was identified as one of the main enforcers for the Clansman Gang which is based in Spanish Town. He was on the most-wanted list for the St Catherine South and St Catherine North police divisions.

A release from the police on Saturday night, said the police seized a Stern Ruger 9mm pistol and 12 9mm rounds of ammunition following the fatal shooting of Topping.

The Bureau of Special Investigations is investigating the shooting. The Independent Commission has also been informed.
