The Big Ship family in association with Tru-Juice will be invading St Catherine with their event Tunn Up St Catherine during next week's holiday interval. The seafood day festival and concert will be staged at the Dinthill Technical High School next Friday, March 11 and will host a sweeping variety of activities for children and families.
The Dinthill Technical High which is nestled near communities like Bog Walk, Ewarton, Spanish Town, Guy's Hill and Linstead, will open its gates for the day's festivities at 10 a.m. Patrons will be able to gain free entry to the seafood festival and get to purchase the excellent assortment of meals ranging from fried fish, steamed fish, shrimp, lobster, crab, conch and more. Additionally, patrons will be given a free offering of fish soup and Tru-Juice with every meal purchase.
Also, parents won't need to worry about finding activities for the kids. Children will have a medley of activities including bounceabouts, and rides to choose from throughout the course of the day. Others can also enjoy football, cricket and domino tournaments.
'Captain of The Ship' Freddie McGregor says, "It's definitely a fun day with lots of fun activities for everyone to come out and enjoy at a minimal cost. During the day, everyone will be able to come in for free and enjoy the seafood festival and the extensive meals, which will be extremely affordable. We just wanted to do something for the people of St Catherine and we thought a family-fun day with every activity and food choice was a fitting thing to do and a great way to spend the holiday week."
Later on that evening, the venue will be cleared for the night's grand concert which begins at 9:30 p.m. There, students from all schools will be able to gain access for only $500 with their IDs while others will pay $1,000.
The concert, which is also sponsored by LIME, CVM TV, 'Onstage' and more, features Freddie McGregor, Chino, Stephen 'Di Genius', Shema, Laden, Bramma, Mavado, Beenie Man, Tifa, Ding Dong, KipRich, Singing Sweet, Ken Boothe, George Nooks, Mikey Spice and a host of musical heavyweights. Part proceeds are in aid of the Dinthill Technical high school.
