Residents of a St Andrew community say they are uncomfortable with the behaviour of a policeman who they allege is showing a lot of interest in the schoolgirls and sending sexual text messages to at least one of them.
The residents told THE STAR yesterday that an incident that happened in the community recently is an indication that the officer is heading for trouble.
"Him love di schoolgirl dem, a evening time him call to almost all di schoolgirl dem him see. Sometimes him gwaan like him ago arrest dem, jus fi feel dem up," one resident said.
It is alleged that the officer got into a tussle with a student at a bus stop. One resident who witnessed the incident told THE STAR "one evening di policeman drape up one a di schoolgirl and di two a dem drop a ground inna di square wid everybody a look. Di policeman carry the schoolgirl go up to the police station."

It is also alleged that when the mother of the student heard about the incident, she went to the police station and threatened the officer with sexual text messages that the policeman allegedly sent to the schoolgirl's phone.
A source told THE STAR that the angry mother told the officer that he should discontinue the practice.
When THE STAR contacted the mother of the girl, she confirmed that the incident did happen but she refused to give the details. When contact was made with the police officer who has been implicated in the incident, he told THE STAR "this is the first time I am hearing these allegations."
In the meantime, from all indications the mother of the teen will not be pressing the case any further but just wants the policeman to stop his alleged behaviour.
