A St Mary teenager accused of buggering a five-year-old boy was Tuesday remanded into custody for psychiatric evaluation when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
The accused reportedly sexually assaulted the child on August 19 while they were at the home of the complainant's mother in Kingston.
It was reported that the accused a friend of the child's mother visited the home on a regular basis and would often spend the night there.
According to the police, the child, who is also from St Mary, came to Kingston in July to spend the summer holiday with his mother. On the day in question, the mother reportedly went to visit a friend and left her son with the accused. It is alleged that the accused pulled the child under a bed, removed his clothes and performed anal sex on the child.
On the following day the child's mother reportedly saw *la*hdstains on a pillow on the bed but did not take the matter seriously as the child suffers from nose bleed.
However, the child reportedly told her about what had happened and the matter was reported to the police and the accused was subsequently arrested and charged.
The accused is also facing the court on a charge of unlawful wounding in another case where he allegedly used a stone to hit a man on the left side of his head.
The incident reportedly took place in Kingston on June 19 when the accused intervened in an argument between a woman and a man and attacked the man with the stone.
The accused was earlier offered bail on that charge but the bail was revoked.
He was remanded into custody Tuesday by Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey and will return to court on October 12.
