Popular Jamaican comedian and MC 'Pretty Boy Floyd' is now looking to clear his name after misleading reports that he appeared in court yesterday for allegedly assaulting his baby mother.

Pretty Boy Floyd, born Ludlow Peynado, found himself in a not-so-funny spot after a man who reportedly uses the same alias appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court in St Catherine, Jamaica and pleaded guilty to assaulting the mother of his child.

When THE STAR contacted the comedian, he was his usual self and immediately tried to make a joke of the situation even though admitting the mix-up could very well affect his career in a negative way.

"Well, I was in LA (Los Angeles) today so unless I was in court there," he said before interjecting, "But no mi neva deh a no court, a nuh me," he declared to THE STAR.

"Of course it can affect me because I'm somebody that's in the spotlight. If I was a normal person then it wouldn't be so bad," he added.

He admitted he was aware of the matter and had even been contacted by a number of corporate entities with whom he works, and which were trying to see if there was any truth to reports about him assaulting his baby's mother and ending up in court yesterday.

Checks with the police in Spanish Town found that the man at the centre of the mix-up, Corney Henry, is to be sentenced on December 7.

Both men are of St Catherine addresses in Jamaica.

Henry was recently charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and malicious destruction of property, following a reported altercation involving himself and the mother of his child.

The court was told that on September 25, Henry went to the woman's home where an argument developed.

The woman was reportedly hit in the face and a laptop belonging to her was also destroyed.

Meanwhile Peynado, the real Pretty Boy Floyd, who nowadays uses the alias 'Boasy Boy Floyd', said he just arrived in Jamaica from a gig in Los Angeles in the United States where he was the host of 'Asylum Night' that was held at the Q-Rock Club.

As for future plans, he said he is slated to be at the Port Royal Seafood Festival on October 18, and a charity event which will be held in St Elizabeth, Jamaica. on November 28.

He is presently Tuesday's host for Ladies' Night in The Building, and added that preparations have already begun for season four on the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition.
