A baby, believed to be about three months old, whose body was found in a St Andrew gully, may have been sexually assaulted and killed, police said yesterday.
The male infant, who was unidentified up to late yesterday, was found in a gully at the Mother White bridge, on Spanish Town Road, St Andrew, last Saturday. The Denham Town police, who are investigating, say they are now treating the infant's death as a murder and have launched a full-scale probe.
According to reports reaching THE STAR, the baby's body was discovered in the gully about 7:10 a.m.

The police said an immediate post-mortem was ordered, the results of which indicate that foul play may have been at work. Further investigations also revealed that the baby may have been sexually assaulted.
