Man gets six months for Anthrax threat (star News)

Maxie Robinson will spend his next six months in prison for calling the police and threatening to release the deadly Anthrax in the air conditioning of a downtown Kingston building.

An apologetic Robinson appeared before Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

On a previous appearance, Robinson told the court that men instructed him to make the report as they wanted to create a diversion by causing panic in Kingston so that they could transport their narcotics unprovoked and undetected.

RM Pusey did not accept Robinson's argument. Furthermore, police investigations had also revealed that the information provided by Robinson was fabricated.

Robinson, who begged for the mercy of the court, explained that he is a man of good character and has always tried to assist the police in whatever way possible.

"I am sorry for my actions," Robinson said, shortly before he was sentenced.
