A policeman who was allegedly held at the Spanish Town police lock-up attempting to smuggle drugs and a knife to a prisoner has been arrested.
THE STAR learnt that on July 18 about 3 p.m., senior personnel made an unscheduled visit to the station.
He reportedly observed the policeman with a package that he was about to hand to the prisoner.
When the officer checked the package, a quantity of vegetable matter resembling ganja and a ratchet knife were allegedly found.
He was taken into custody on suspicion of breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act. A file has also been compiled and sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for a ruling.
