Jamaican dancehall artiste Adijah Palmer, popularly called Vybz Kartel, who turned himself in to the police on June 29 has now been released.

The release reportedly took place approximately 7:30 p.m. last night .

Kartel's release will allow him to perform at the Reggae Sumfest show next week and several other events.

His attorney, Valerie Neita Robertson, while commending Minister of National Security Dwight Nelson for his intervention, expressed alarm at how the situation was handled.
