A man who allegedly assaulted his mother was "divorced" by her when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday .

John Mark Afalo pleaded not guilty to assault ocassioning bodily harm.

Afalo's mother told Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that she was "divorcing him" from her life, denouncing him totally as a son and wanted to forget about him.

Afalo's mother told the court that this was not the first time he was "cruel to me" and she had become frustrated with him assaulting her.

She pleaded with the court to have Afalo removed from her residence as she wanted him to remove all his personal belongings from her house immediately.
