The Embassy of The Republic of Colombia in Jamaica is denying reports that a man recently held in Mandeville, Manchester on sexually related charges is a Colombian.
A release from the embassy on Monday, said it is seeking to correct erroneous reports that suggested that the accused, who is from the Dominican Republic, was Colombian.
The embassy said it is "concerned about some media erroneous reports about an alleged Colombian citizen who has been detained for a child sexual abuse." It further said no Colombian citizen was currently being processed for any sexual crime in Jamaica.
