The police yesterday issued a public appeal to the attorneys representing Christopher 'Dudus' Coke to turn their client in.
Through a release, the Police High Command requested that legal representatives take their client to the nearest police station for the extradition warrant to be executed.
The police also called for residents of Tivoli Gardens and Denham Town to dismantle the barricades they have erected at main entry points across the communities citing that it is illegal to erect such blockades, which hinder the security forces from carrying out their duties.
In ending, the release stated; "Law abiding citizens have nothing to fear from the presence of the security forces as the police intend to conduct our operations in a professional manner in accordance with the law and in the interest of all concerned."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for west Kingston, Bruce Golding, has called on the members of his constituency to remain calm and to continue to go about their legitimate business despite the tension that exists. He said they should allow the courts to deal with the extradition matter.
Golding said that he is concerned about the roadblocks that have been mounted in sections of the constituency.
"I have been assured that the security forces are determined to carry out their duties in a professional manner in order to prevent any recurrence of the terrible atrocities that occurred in 2001," the Prime Minister stated through a release.
He also urged his constituents to cooperate with the security forces in the lawful execution of their duties.
