They only stole three dollars and a cell phone, but 2 brothers, 19 year old Alrick Carcamo and 25 year old Emmerson Neal were sentenced to 7 years behind bars when they were found guilty of robbery in their absence today in the Number two Magistrate's Court.

Carcamo was also found guilty of keeping a firearm and ammunition without a gun license. Magistrate Sharon Fraser sentenced both Carcamo and Neal to Seven years for robbery. She sentenced Carcamo to two years for the firearm and two years for the ammunition with the stipulation that the sentences are to run concurrently and consecutive to the seven years. Carcamo, therefore, will serve a total of nine years.

The incident occurred around Ten Fifteen P.M. on May 21, 2009, at BTL Park on Newtown Barracks. The complainant, 26 year old Freeman Smith, a sideman for Benny's, testified that he was approached by Neal who asked him for eleven dollars. Smith said he told Neal that he was low on cash. Carcamo then approached him and told him they only wanted ten dollars. Smith said Carcamo lifted his shirt and showed him a gun then punched him in his face. Smith said Carcamo then stole his cell phone and three dollars. Neal and Carcamo were apprehended by the police as they were about to ride off. When the police searched Carcamo they found a Nine millimeter pistol with five rounds of ammunition in its magazine. Neal who disappeared the same day the trial began is a fugitive of justice. Carcamo who testified and admitted that he was at BTL Park but denied that he committed the robbery did not appear at sentencing today. He claimed that the police did not find any gun on him. Like his brother, he is now also a fugitive.
