DJ Sunshine's missing Pitbull, Mollie. - Contributed
Popular radio personality DJ Sunshine is offering a reward for the return of her one-year-old Pitbull that was stolen from her St Mary home on Friday night.
The IRIE FM disc jock told THE STAR that the dog, which was in the backyard, was last seen by neighbours sometime after 8 p.m. However, when she got home, about an hour later, the dog, which answers to the name Mollie, was nowhere to be found.
She explained that there was no way for the dog to leave the yard on its own and said she therefore must have been stolen. The disc jock said she got the dog when she was just five weeks old, and so, has had her for over a year. She said the dog has become a part of her family.
"When you have a dog, since it was five weeks old, and you've been through so much with that dog, it's like a family member. So, for someone to come and take that family member, it's like they ripped out a piece of my heart," she said.
She said since the dog's disappearance, she has made announcements on radio, asked around in her community and has been in dialogue with her neighbours. She said she is planning to distribute flyers soon.
The disc jock said, "If anyone sees her or hears anything, they can just drop her off at IRIE FM or just leave her near the house, she can find her way home."
A reward of an undisclosed amount is being offered to anyone who can help the disc jock locate the dog.
